Virginia Kolstad is a photographer specializing in landscapes, night photography, general nature and cityscapes. Her photography is intended to bring the 'outdoors indoors', to capture and share the beauty of the natural world around us. Most of her photos are taken in scenic areas of the U.S. with particular emphasis on U.S. National and State Parks, Seashores, Lakeshores and Monuments.
Virginia is a member of two camera clubs and has won multiple awards for her work. Most recently she won First Place from the Sparta Historical Society & the Van Kirk Homestead for her submission to the "The Photographers Eye" exhibit. She also won both First and Second Place ribbons at the New Jersey State Fair, Sussex County Farm & Horse Show. She also exhibits at local art and craft fairs. In addition to landscapes, Virginia enchanted by the beauty of our cities both during the day and at night. Whether it is fireworks, monumental sites such as the Freedom Tower or the Space Needle, she is interested in finding ways to capture and share these beautiful scenes.
In addition to our earthly world, there are many beautiful sights in the heavens above which are much easier to capture with today's modern photographic equipment. More of these photos will be added in the future.
